If they were enrolled in a school in Korea for any time period during the 12-year education period, the eligibility of application will not be approved. (However, each university should confirm an avoidable case of studying in Korea for a while. Also, the exception within 1 semester is allowed to the transfer applicants who have completed the primary-to-the-secondary education for more than 12 years in 2 or more countries.)
  • Applicants of Korean origin who studied in countries that practice a period of less than 12 years for primary to secondary education are approved if it is deemed equivalent to primary to secondary education in Korea, according to Item 9 of Paragraph 1 of Article 98 of the Primary and Secondary Education Law. (However, Koreans who completed their entire education together in one country and in another country (including Korea) are not approved as the same case.)
Conditions of parents :
  • The education requirements for applicants of Korean origin are only for the applicants, which means that the period of their parents’ living or staying abroad is not considered for any requirement of the applicants’ admission.
