Kyungil University (KIU) president, ���������, has conferred an honorary scholarship certificate and awarded a small gift to sophomore student, Jin-a Kang. Ms. Kang, a sports major at KIU, decided to give up her merit scholarship, totaling two million won, for other classmates who are in need of financial support.

In honor of Ms. Kang���s selflessness, KIU has introduced ���The Honorary Scholarship Program���, which awards an honorary scholarship certificate marked as ���0��� won, to students who defer his/her scholarship to other students. Ms. Kang is the first KIU honorary scholarship recipient.

She said, ���I already received the merit scholarship in the first semester, so I said that if I receive the scholarship again, I would like to defer it to another student. Fortunately, I earned it again and my parents and I decided to share this luck. I hope this bursary will provide financial aid to my classmates who are the most in need���.

She also said that she will work at the Pyeong-Chang Winter Olympics as a sports-diplomat and a member of the Korean Olympic Committee.

Additionally, an official from the Division of Scholarship & Welfare stated, ���We keep track of students��� benefits through the division so that students may pursue their academic goals, regardless of their financial situation. The Honorary Scholarships Program will not only can make the campus a warmer environment, but will also help the students who are the most in need���.
