Kyungil University stated that they have received the best rating (Class S) in the ‘2012 Business Incubators Operational Evaluation’ conducted by the Small and Medium Business Administration, thereby they have the honor of winning the best Business Incubator Center for ten years in a row, dating back to 2003.
By obtaining ‘the best rating for 10 consecutive years’, KIU is the first to do so in the Daegu and Kyungbuk region. The evaluation criteria of the Business Incubator Center consist of; start-up support personnel, operational funding, securing facilities, and infrastructure improvement and enterprise support performance. Support performance for tenants is evaluated based on a variety of indicators such as sales and employment growth rate, certification and intellectual property application and registration and attracting investment.
Kyungil University’s Business Incubator Center had the highest ratio of new startup businesses over the past year. Despite the fact, tenants’ revenue and employment growth have raised. This means the start-up companies are successful in commercializing products. In addition to that, the increase of company ratio of original technology possession and providing performance management, technical expert mentoring and commercialization support were the driving force behind the high evaluation, too.
Kwang-Gu Lee, the leader of BIC, said that they would put all their efforts into supporting the start-up companies this year and intends for it to continue to receive the highest rating in the evaluation of leading university of business establishments, just as it has for the last two years.
Kyungil University is selected as an ‘Academy-style Entrepreneurship Leading University’ based on the business performance over the last two years (Government funding 3.4 billion won) and will support 46 new founders at BI Center. |
