On May 16th, Kyungil University stated that the Cyber Security Department’s club ‘KISS (Advisor: Eun Jun Yoon, Member: 15 students including Yoong Hee Lee)’ has been selected for the ‘2013 Support Project for Science and Engineering Societies’.
The KOFST (The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies) carries out the ‘Support Project for Science and Engineering Societies’ to help university students craft a proper scientific mind and to prepare them for becoming leaders in the scientific community in the future. This is the third year of the project and the second year for KIU following the ‘KICOM’.
‘KISS’ is an acronym for Kyungil University Information Security Society, which was established in 2011 and works in various fields of activity such as seminars and projects with information protection laboratory. The ‘KISS’ will be funded for seven months from this month on and there will be more benefits available such as incentive pay and the issuing of science and engineering society certificates if they are selected for the best club.
The president of the KISS said, “Recently, we are doing this project called ‘Privacy video surveillance system’. We will do our best to solve the problem of existing CCTV cameras.” The advisor, professor Eun Jun Yoon said, “I will guide the students to acquire the practical skills rather than focus on theory and train them to be experts in cyber security.” |
