Lesson plan:
The students will meet in a classroom for a mini lesson on simple map reading skills and how to properly use a compass for basic directions. The students will be given two handouts and divided into three groups (one teacher per group). Each group will go on a small nature hike around the school campus. They will use a compass and map to search for and locate various items.

Goals for this lecture:
The goal for this lecture is to introduce basic orienteering skills. The students will learn simple map terminology and become familiar with giving and receiving directions in English.

Number of students invited (open/restricted. If restricted, how many?) 15
Location: Seminar Room on the 2nd Floor/Library (10-15 mins.) + outside school campus (45-50 mins)

Materials Needed:
Handouts, pencils/pens, cellphone (compass/camera)
