The School of Photography & Motion Picture of Kyungil University has created an international collaborative work, which is the first of its kind among photography majoring universities in Korea.

This year, KIU has started ‘The International Exchange Program’ after establishing a relationship with Chiang Mai University, a university based in Thailand. Consequently, six students majoring in photography and motion picture from KIU, including junior student Suh Eun-Jung, visited Chiang Mai University last summer and are still working on a motion picture project in collaboration with six fellow students from CAMT (Computer Arts Media Technology).

The purpose of this collaborative project is to create a film which introduces Daegu and Chiang Mai to the world. Students from both universities have collected a large amount of images and information to increase the quality of the project. The collaborative project took eight weeks in total and will be distributed by a web application for free.

Six students, including Mr. Krisada Mahakitpaisarn, attended photography and motion picture classes for a month, from October 15th to November 14th in Kyungil University. The collaborative project, which indeed goes ‘Beyond the Limit’, is attracting public attention. This project has allowed the students involved to develop skills related to planning, marketing and global competitiveness by being involved in this project.

The supervisory professor Han Sang-Gyun, from the School of Photography and Motion Picture said, “This collaboration can boost not only the image of our school internationally, but it can also strengthen and help develop students’ abilities based on this global collaboration.”
