The Kyungil University Department of Nursing held ���The 3rd Nightingale Oath-taking Ceremony��� in the library auditorium on November 22nd. At this ceremony, more than 500 people were in attendance, including Jung Hyun-Tae, the president of KIU, Nam Hye-Sook, the head of nursing at KyungPook University Hospital, Lee Myung-Hee, the head of nursing at Kyungsan Central Hospital Ahn Myung-Hee, the section chief in Kyungsan Saemyeong Hospital, as well as students from the nursing department and their parents.

This year���s Nightingale who lit the candle was senior Seok Ji-Hye, who has been an excellent student and 68 other students, including sophomore Park Hyun-Jung, made a pledge to devote themselves to people���s health and welfare as professional nurses.

The KIU Department of Nursing, which was established in 2010, has developed several practical programs, including: foreign language ���Communication Theory��� and a practical training abroad program called ���NCLEX���. Additionally, the school has enlarged the boundaries of the MOU by creating a vast network system by signing an MOU with local hospitals.

The pre-nurses who took the oath today will do clinical training for a year in KyungPook University Hospital, Dongsan Medican Center, Fatima Hospital, and Yeungnam University Medical Hospital to prepare them for becoming a practical nurse.
