Kyungil University held '2013 KIU Night of Industry-University Cooperation' event at Daegu Hotel Inter-Burgo on Friday, November 29th. The '2013 KIU Night of Industry-University Cooperation’ aims to construct a system of cooperation between KIU and local companies.

The event opened with a welcoming address from Jung Hyun-Tae, president of KIU. President Jung greeted greeted more than 100 companies' important people at the venue including Lee In-Sun, the GyeongsangBuk-do Governmental Affairs vice-governor, and Jang Rae-Woong, the Director of the Gyeongbuk Techno Park, and said, "We will make an exemplary case for the creative economy, an academic-industrial cooperation model that goes beyond the community based on a stable partnership between the university and companies”.

Following the address, the Director of Kyungil University Industrial-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Cho Hyun-Duck, and the Director of Special Disaster and Emergency Response R&D Center announced that KIU is attempting to contribute its best effort for developing the local community and investing in cultivating high-level industry human resources, technical development, and supporting the establishment of a new company through status reports: ‘Auto parts test RIC’, ‘Auto parts HRD business’, Energy human Resource Development Business Group’, and the ‘Special Disaster Emergency Response’.

Lee Gwang-Gu, the director of the Kyungil University Business Center introduced the ‘KIU Bridge’ and stated that KIU was selected as a 'Leading University of Academy-Style Business Establishment’ and is the first local university for 'Innopolis Campus Development Project' in March and October.

The excellent case presentation of industry-university cooperation followed after 5pm. Among many successful industry-university cooperation cases, 2013 The Small and Medium Business Administration Award winning IPM System and Dasomfarm which achieved the desired result in establishing technology transfer and expansion of business process were selected as the best cases.

Firstly, IPM System CEO, Kim Gwang-Soo stated that he patented his technology with help from Professor Kwon Dae-Hyuk, from the department of electronic engineering, and invented a programming handler after he was selected as '2011 cooperation research development business operator' in 2011.

In sequence, Professor Kang Kwang-Sun, from the department of renewable energy, who received the result with Dasomfarm, succeeded with the presentation. Dasomfarm was established in May 2011, and moved in the KIU R&DB Center had has been researching a natural perfume collection technology, manufacturing nano materials and abstracting antibiotic materials.

A Kyungil University official said, "We will create a flexible network with more companies through the third annual event, 'KIU Night of Industry-University Cooperation’ and we hope that this event can boost our collaborative efforts between the university and local businesses’.
