Maintaining employment rate is an indicator that show how many graduate students are working after a period of time so this is used as data to measure the ‘quality’ of employment. The ministry of Education adopted a maintaining employment rate indicator to prevent universities from adopting an expedient that universities let graduate students have a job just for a short time to raise the indictor of employment rate. Every June, using data base of employment health insurance service, they study the employment rates of graduate students and calculate if those are still joining employment health insurance service in September and December.
The person concerned in job-research support center in KIU explained that the high maintainance of employment rates means our graduate students don’t quit working easily and are quick to adapt to working, so hereafter, they will strengthen job research support to satisfy our students.
