KIU sports department professor, Kim Kyung-Oh runs a Level 1 Senior Physical Education Leader License Class with students as non-subject activities. A senior physical education theory lecture and seminar are included, and they have practical training in the Kyungsan Senior Total Welfare Center on Fridays. Students engage in body activities applying ���Nintendo Wii���, which is a body action recognition video game machine for the elderly in the Kyungsan Senior Total Welfare Center. A lot of empirical research from North America shows this type of video game based on body action recognition improves their physical activities so it has an effect on improving their physiological, psychological, sociological, and cognitive ability.

Through this program, senior citizens can maintain their health by experiencing a variety of fitness programs and students can prepare for their certification examination.

Professor, Kim Kyung-Oh said, ���It is popular among Senior Centers in North American to use ���Nintendo Wii���, a body action recognition video game machine, but in this area, this is the first attempt to use it and it is still in its infancy. It serves two ends with this program; students who are preparing for their certificate examination for old physical director license can have more experience in teaching the eldery in reality and also for senior citizens, they can improve their health through physical activities.��� He also underlined, ���It helps to report the necessity of senior physical activity related job field and ultimately, we expect the potential effectiveness of making a new senior related job market.���

The program runs every other Friday now but from this summer vacation, it will take place every Friday.

Cho, Dong-Ju, a senior from the department of sports who is participating in this program said, ���I feel very confident that if we can practice, we will soon be able to do this on our own and I can discover what is vital for the happiness of seniors who are engaged in this program.���
