The regional Innovation Center for Automotive Components Test from the KIU Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation obtained official approval as an International Testing and Evaluation Laboratory.

The ACT-RIC was accepted as an International Testing and Evaluation Laboratory in a total of 9 standards that include electric testing, environment reliability, and etc. from the Korean Laboratory Accreditation Scheme under the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy last February.

The regional Innovation Center for Automotive Components Test was accepted officially in the field of quality system and testing ability as a test facility and the test report from the RIC-ACT is reliable so it can be accepted internationally. Local automotive components companies can be certified from the ACT-RIC and could be helpful for exporting products.

KIU runs the ACT-RIC to support local small and medium companies comprehensively designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in July, 2007 from building and applying advanced equipment, research and development to industrialization of engineering development, technology guidance and transfer, fostering manpower, incubating start-up business, network, and marketing.
