The Leap-KISS Team from the department of Cyber Security was selected and will start its activity for ‘Mentoring project with EVE’ which is for female engineering students that will lead next generation’s IT industry. KIU’s Team Leap-KISS will conclude an agreement with mentor company, Hankook Sensors co., with development task – hand movement signature authentication system – and will co-develop a system which sensor user’s hand movement signature and verifies the access authority using next generation’s input device, Leap Motion’ .

Yoon Eun-Jun, who supervises this project said, “Leap motion based signature authentication system is expected to be used in a variety of authentication application environments such as slide to unlock, log-in and internet payment using one’s hand as verification technology to substitute a security password.”

Team leader, Suh Bo-Mi, a sophomore from the department of cyber security said, “We are excited to develop a system with an IT company during the period of attendance at school. Also, we will accumulate practical experience applying the theory we learned from the class into real program development.”

This project is implemented to support students to improve their executive ability in the field of IT. They will be and each team will be composed of the mentor that is IT company and female students.

This project is in its 7th year, and this year 45 teams from over the country were selected during that time. ‘Project Plan Presentation’ will be held on the 16th in the L-Tower in Seoul and it consists of project plan presentations, guest lectures, and harmonious time together, and they will start their projects.
