The 2014 Students��� Portfolio Workshop hosted by the Engineering Education Innovation Center was held in the auditorium of the KIU library at 4 P.M. on the 21st, of May. Choi Keum-Jin from the college of education in Cheongju University college of education was a guest speaker and gave a speech about ���Making Methods of Students��� Portfolio of Job Seeking��� and introduced a concept and the necessity of a portfolio, excellent cases of portfolios, and making a portfolio for job seeking and more. Professor Choi emphasized that a portfolio is the first step to achieve goal-directed life and encouraged to have clear target consciousness. This event was 2 hours long, finishing at 6 P. M. and was attended by around 287 students. There was a huge variety of students, from freshman and junior alike from various majors, such as: the college of engineering, the college of global business, and the college of nursing.

The KIU Engineering Education Innovation Center gave suggestions to the students with the lower grades��� on how to prepare for the future and for the students with higher grades, the center tried to motivate and encourage students to organize their study outcome and how to prepare to get a job.

One attendee said, ���I hadn���t fully understood the importance of a portfolio until I attended this workshop, however, I now get the point on how to use a portfolio for my studies and my future job and it was also a very new concept to me to know that portfolio can make storytelling and can be very good way to PR.���

Thus, the center expects to have a lot of students��� participation for the 2nd KIU Students Portfolio Competition using the know-how the students��� learned from this workshop. Superior portfolios will be given prizes such as an opportunity to study abroad and scholarships. The winners will also be recommended to be candidates of preliminaries for the competition that will be happening nationwide.
