KIU has been selected as a participant university in the Creative Korea Local Leading University in Daegu and the Kyungpook area by the Ministry of Education.

KIU will carry forward a CK business plan that includes co-recruiting foreign students and boosting capability along with Daegu Hanny University, Andong National University and Yeungnam University.

The primary goal is to strengthen the linkage among universities to utilize human resources and material resources which have already been effectively. These universities will do as follows : exchange professors, students, facilities, and programs and co-develop teaching support programs for foreign students and exchanging credits. They will also co-operate in job support programs and exchange facilities, and energize the network among universities including an exchange system between a leading university and participant universities. KIU will especially focus on supporting getting jobs and improving business start-up capabilities.
