Twenty-four nursing students from KIU’s Department of Nursing pledged in “The first Nightingale pledging Ceremony” held in the KIU library auditorium on Friday, March 16th.
There were 500 guests present including Kyungil University president Chung Hyun Tae.
Ko Sun Hee, who is the chief of nursing in Kyungbook province, Jung Bok Rae who is the dean of the Department of Nursing, and undergraduate students and their parents were in attendance.
The purpose of the “Nightingale Pledging Ceremony” is for third year students who are ready for their internship to commemorate with the spirit of the “Nightingale” and swear their devotion to human health and wellness.
Kyungil University established the nursing department in 2010 and 24 student nurses will begin their internship for the first time this year.
They will practice clinical training at Kyungbook

National University Hospital and Dongsan Hospital in the year ahead.
President Chung stated, “ As a Kyungil University graduate, you must try to enhance people’s health and well-being with the highest standards of nursing care. In addition, do your best to carry out your mission as professional nurses.”
