During summer vacation, 8 KIU students visited Silicon Valley in San Francisco and held a conference detailing their visit on November 16th. From August 19th to 25th, 8 KIU students visited Silicon Valley, an area in California known for its high-tech business ventures. The 8 students were chosen as part of the second Oversea Intensive Corps.

According to Choi Kyung Hee, a senior in the business department, Google, which started as a very small venture company, has now developed into the world’s best competitive company.
She also added, “I’ve heard Google is so friendly and liberal, but it also needs to consider autonomic responsibility and performance. And the leader’s requirement in a start-up business is a sense of humor, so the creative idea comes from free communication, not force.”

The students also visited UC Davis in California and held a discussion with a local university student, who received 3rd place in “The Start-up Competition in USA”. The “Start-up Competition” is about setting up business activities in a university.

Student Choi Byung Kyu, a senior majoring in business, said “It was a good time. I could see students from different majors get together and discuss new items and I want to give opportunities to our KIU students as the chief of KIURA.”
The president of KIU, Chung Hyun Tae said, “I will try to give more opportunities for studying abroad programs and encourage ongoing improvements in our students who are interested in start-up business.”
