On December 31st, ���ECO RIDER���, a KIU environmental group activity, received the Minister of the Environment Award at ���2012 Campus Eco Leader���. It was hosted by Daegu Regional Environmental Office and was held at the convention hall at Daegu-Kyungbook integrated government building.

Last year on April 13th, Daegu Regional Environmental Office launched the ���2012 Campus Eco Leader Welcoming Ceremony��� to emphasize the importance of preparation for weather change and the need for eco-life participation.
KIU students have planted 100 finge trees with the profits from selling the KIU mug cups over the last couple of months. This also received the judges high praise and good press for performing a

campaign in energy conservation and reusable paper report.

Oh Jung Hoen, the leader of Eco Rider at KIU, stated, ���I was aware of the seriousness of global warming but it was not easy to find the solution for it. However, since being appointed as an eco leader, I've been seriously considering about things like environment conservation in daily life. From now on, I will spread the word about the importance of nature and try to contribute to low-carbon green growth.���
