Professor Kiju Ha, from the school of architecture became the 37th president of the Architectural Institute of Korea.
Voter turnout in the election for the president of AIK was recorded at 71.3% percent and he was elected by receiving 1,634 votes out of a possible 2.665 votes. His term will be 2 years in length, beginning in May 2016.
Professor Ha is the head of LIPE business at Kyungil University and is currently the chief researcher of Construction Technology Policy. Also, he has successively filled various government and other posts, such as the committee of National Construction Policy Association, a council member for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the chief person for the Comprehensive Plan for Strengthening Construction Safety.
The Architectural Institute of Korea was established in 1945.It is the only study institute of its kind and has about 23,000 members having various kinds of jobs, such as: architects, engineers, architectural engineers, researchers, professors, and officials. It develops architectural education and culture and promotes maximizing the practical use of theories with its 8 affiliated organizations. |
