Outstanding students for start-ups have been selected to have start-up training every year provided by Google, Intel and other companies.

Kyungil University selected twenty-four students who are about to establish a business and carried out start-up workshops in Silicon Valley for eight days from the 14th to 21stof February.

These start-up workshops began with visits to distinguished universities in the US, including: UC Berkeley, Stanford University and IT-related leading enterprises, such as Google, Intel and so forth. They were joined by Korean CEOs who have established a business in the US and the resident employees in the US office of KOTRA (Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and KITECH (Korea Institute of Industrial Technology).

Park Kyung-Hoon,a junior majoring in real estate and cadastral science, who participated in the workshops, said, “Through meetings with start-up experts, including the seniors who actually succeeded in establishing a business in Silicon Valley, I saw in person start-up trends in the US and gained confidence for establishing a business anywhere in the world as well as in the US.

Kyungil University, being a central university in Gyeongbuk for Leading University Projects for Start-up Business and supervised by the Small and Medium Business Administration, selected outstanding students for start-ups. The studenst selected were those who achieved excellent results through various programs, including: start-up contests, support projects for start-up clubs, and tailored start-up courses.
