Kyungil University’s 2016 Entrance Ceremony was held at the university general gymnasium on February 29th(Mon.)at11:00a.m.
  A total of 2,084 people attended the  ceremony, composed of Kyungil’s new students (1,990 freshmen and transfer students, and 94 enrolled in master’s or and doctorate programs). President Chung Hyun-tae, as well as the school’s main executives, school parents, and other distinguished guests, also attended. These included:
 - Director of Ilcheong Educational Foundation and President of the Korean Olympic Committee, Kim Jeong-
    haeng
  - President of Aju Industrial, Shin Ki-ok
  - Director of Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, Chung Young-sik
  - President of the Korean Judo Association, Kim Jin-do
  At this entrance ceremony, Kyungil’s own jumpers (alias ‘Hakjam’) were offered to all the freshmen for free as a meaning for celebrating their new start. The jumpers received fervent responses from the students. Kyungil’s Hakjam came to have a large symbolic meaning for not only students, but also for all the school members in that the same uniform on this day as it aroused a sense of belonging and pride of being Kyungil people.

  President Chung personally helped Kim Hyun-bin (School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering) and Kim Jihyun (Dept. of Nursing), who were the representatives for all the matriculating students, into their Hakjam and welcomed them with the utmost enthusiasm. Following this welcoming ceremony, the ceremony for all the freshmen changing into Hakjam (Hwanbok Ceremony) created a moving scene where the ceremonial hall was dyed purple in color with everyone sharing the same happy mindset.

  After the entrance ceremony, each department held orientation meetings. The students’ parents had time to talk with the President in the school library auditorium regarding a lot of their sons and daughters’ overall college life matters, such as scholarships, dormitory life, and overseas programs.

  On this day, the President passed along his request in the welcoming speech of the entrance ceremony, “I wish for all freshmen to do their best in campus life faithfully under the guidance of their excellent professors in Kyungil, now providing actual student-centered college management.” Lastly, the President revealed his strong ambition, “Kyungil aims to create a new paradigm of university education by providing two-way customized educational services for students’ true happiness through ‘Students’ Happiness 3.0 Project.”
