Four National Subsidy Programs Selected through a Consortium, a Total of 4.3 Hundred Million Won Awarded in Subsidies

As a result of the consortium that has been established with Chilgok County (Governor Baek, Seon-Ki), Kyungil University (President Jung, Hyun-Tae) will be financially supported for four business start-up support projects in total in the fiscal year 2016 alone, with 4.3 hundred million won of subsidies from the National Treasury.

The projects, whose orders were obtained by these two institutions, include support for the ‘Senior Technology Business Start-up Center’ project under the supervision of the Small and Medium Business Administration, the ‘Domestic and Foreign Marketing’ project for ‘Senior Business Start-ups’, ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ projects which will be sponsored by Gyeongsangbuk-Province, and ‘Job Creation in Line with Local Industry’ projects under the auspice of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Since its opening in 2012, the Senior Technology Business Start-up Center in Kyungil University has received an A Grade in the evaluation of reassignment in 2014, Grade S in the operational review in 2015, thus being consistently ranked high among chosen institutions. The Center searches for seniors who are 40 years old or older who will launch a technology startup, and then it provides them with business start-up training and consulting free of charge, along with free work space. In addition, free domestic and international marketing support assistance will be offered as well.

Among the projects, the ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ project is primarily intended for pre-entrepreneurs who are between 18 and 39 years old. For those who were selected from 2012 to 2015, 49 of them in all, they successfully started their own business, and the total sales of their businesses were estimated at 32 hundred million won.

The ‘Job Creation in Line with Local Industry’ project is aimed at 20 pre-entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 to 34 years old, who have the intention of establishing a business of their own in Chilgok County, in the area of the 6th Industry (which helps farmers produce farm products with higher intrinsic value, in cooperation with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Industries). Free business start-up training and consulting services will be offered to all of them, and companies excelling in work will be provided with further funding support to startups.

As a part of these four support projects for business startups, the Kyungil University Start-up Support Center, located in Chilgok Country, will start recruiting participants in the programs. Pre-entrepreneurs who successfully complete their programs will be given further support, in conjunction with Kyungil University Start-up Promotional Projects.

More detailed information about registration can be found on the website (cgchangup.kr) or at the Senior Technology Business Start-up Center (Tel. 054-974-9604).
