All students staying in dormitories receive scholarships, thus, the dormitory system is a unique cooperative between the government and school aimed at nurturing talented students from the local area.
Kyungil University President, Jung Hyun-Tae, made an agreement with the Gunwi educational developing committee-chief director, Kim Yeung-Man, about supporting students in dormitories from Gunwi-gun on Tuesday, March 29th..
According to this agreement, Gunwi-gun will donate 100 million won to KIU, and the students from Gunwi-gun will receive priority in entering dormitories on campus. Also, KIU has plans to support all the students recommended from Gunwi-gun with 50% of their boarding expenses for the year.
President Jung Hyun-Tae said, “KIU has prepared additional scholarships and given priority for dormitories which will compliment the efforts of Gunwi-gun to offer stable educational and living conditions to local students. Moreover, KIU will nurture the students from Gunwi-gun as great and talented individuals necessary for our local society and country. |
