KIU cheered up students by giving out hot dogs and other snacks made in the food trucks on campus that the student vendors started up.

On April 19 (Tuesday), just the day before the midterm exams this semester started, KIU held an event in front of the central library that offered snacks to students studying for their midterms.

That day, Hee Joo Park, the Vice President for Management, other faculty members, and the Student Council handed out snacks, such as rice burgers and hot dogs, to students occupied with preparing for their midterms and cheered them up. Specifically, rice burgers, which could be a substitute for a substantial meal, were so popular that they ran out within just thirty minutes.

Last month the student council made burritos (Mexican food) and hot dogs themselves at Dahlitto, the food truck that the student vendors started up, and gave them out to students.

Kim Bo Rim (senior, Photography and Motion Picture major), who waited in line and finally got a snack and a drink, said, “I tend to skip dinner during the exam period to spare mealtime. But today thanks to the Vice President and the student council handing out food, I could stay up till late and study hard.”

Hee Joo Park, the Vice President for Management, stated, “Students are tired from studying for their midterms and preparing for the job market. Having seen their big smiles when they were given snacks, we will prepare plenty of food next time and share this small piece of happiness with more of our students. As KIU pursues ‘student happiness 3.0’, we will arrange various events for them in the future.”
