A Ten Story-scale Building near Beomeo Intersection to Be Completed Next May Is to Operate Profit Business with Social Education Center.

Ilcheong Educational Foundation(Head Director Ha Sunggyu), which manages  Kyungil University(President Chung Hyuntae), said that a ten story-scale Kyungil University Daegu Education Center(tentatively named “Beomeo Building”) would be built around Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu.

This result has caused KIU to purchase a land of 462 square meters, located between Beomeo Intersection at Suseong-gu and Suseong-gu Office. The construction is to start on the 15thof next month on a total scale of seven billion Won for construction costs and to be completed next May.

KIU plans to set up Social Education Center at the upper part of the new building for the purpose of operating lifelong education programs for local residents. The lower part of the building is to be used for expansion of budget in student welfare and university education through the operation of profit business.

President Chung made the point, “Recently, a lot of efforts have been stepped up by every university to reduce dependence on tuition and to secure the fiscal soundness.” He also said,  “Starting with the erection of Beomeo Building, KIU will embark on various profit businesses and the total of generating profits are to be fully used to improve the quality of university education before the end of the year.”
