The achievement briefing session of the FY2016 was held in the main library lobby of Kyungil University on September 19th(Monday) and 20th(Tuesday) by the Idea Factory Project Group whose head is Mr. Kang, Hyeong-Gu.

This event was intended to introduce business details of the Idea Factory to students who aspire to start up a business, thereby inducing them to participate more actively in businesses. This event attracted a lot of attention, in that it displayed a wide array of products, including not only those awarded in the business idea competition, whose fruitful results were yielded by the 1-year performance of the Idea Factory, but also the innovative products selected and exhibited in the ‘3-Day Workshop’ under the co-sponsorship of RISTI(Research Institute of Social Technology and Innovations) - KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).

This event served as an opportunity to provide students with a wider understanding of turning their start-up ideas into a real business, by means of demonstrating 3-dimensional printing and the product displays in the ‘KIUM Market’, which is the permanent exhibition space of the Idea Factory Project Group, along with the introduction of a series of processes from the development of products to the marketing of them.

The ‘Idea Factory Project’, which has been conducted in ten leading universities across the nation under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy since 2015, has helped college students to convert their business ideas into a reality through the professional consultations provided by experts from government-sponsored research institutes. It aims at assisting college students in transforming their ideas into sample products, transferring the acquired technology to small and medium-sized enterprises, and supporting the students’ entrepreneurship.

Kyungil University was solely selected for this project among the universities in the region of Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province, thus being awarded funding of nine hundred million KRW in total for three years (from the year 2016 to the year 2018), or three hundred million KRW for each year, respectively, and undertaking this project.
