21 Universities out of 144 Career Education Cases Selected and Awarded at the KCUE (Korean Council for University Education) Policy Forum

Kyungil University (President Hyun Tae Chung) was selected for the “2016 Excellent Case in University Career Education” carried out by the KCUE and the Presidential Youth Committee.

In the Centennial Hall of Chung-Ang University at 2 pm on November 30th(Wed),theKCUE and the Presidential Youth Committee held a University Education Policy Forum under the theme of “The Promotion and Projects of Excellent Cases in University Career Education.” They granted awards to 21 universities, including Kyungil University, selected for being excellent cases.

The excellent case of Kyungil University is a model of “employment-linked global long-term field practice” that Kyungil and the local automobile company Ajin Industry Co.(CEO Jung-ho Seo)have implemented together. It is going to be introduced in a booklet this December to universities around the country.

The selection of excellent cases was carefully done; experts evaluated 144 cases submitted to the contest that invited excellent cases in career education from four-year universities around the country, and they chose 21 universities in five fields, including career search, employment, startups, and career system.

The model of “employment-linked global long-term field practice” at Kyungil University is a system that has continued from 2013 to this day, which connects students to employment after they do their long-term field practice at Ajin USA in the US. Kyungil University made an agreement with Ajin Industry Co. that is highly preferred for employment.

Jeom-chan Lee, the dean of Job-Search, says, “Linking Ajin Industry Co. that students highly prefer for employment to the long-term field practice abroad has been a win-win situation because the company can secure outstanding individuals and the university raises its employment rate. Kyungil University will expand companies that implement the employment-linked field practice and strengthen its position as an excellent university for employment.”
