After The Global Launching Ceremony

Among the international experiences groups are: 'Nareushadok(Soaring Germany)', 'Passionate Art Troupe', and 'Fire Fighting Rather Than Flowers', which are chosen according to major themes in Kyungil University. A total of 36 teams which consist of 155 Kyungil University students will visit several countries around the world such as the U.S.A., Spain, Switzerland, Japan, etc. in accordance with their major themes during the winter vacation. They then will return with a wide range of experiences. Round trip airfare will be paid in full by Kyungil University.
With the attendance of over 400 students chosen for the winter break overseas experiences program, the launching ceremony for the '2016 Winter Global Elite Development Project' was held in the Small Assembly Hall of the Humanities College on December 7th(Wed.).
There have been such a wide array of 'Global Elite Development' programs provided by Kyungil University where approximately 800 students (which account for more than 10 percent of the current students), are annually sent to foreign countries. Overseas volunteers' visit to Cebu in the Philippines on December 18th will be followed by other departures such as overseas language study, overseas experiences on several themes, visits to overseas Korean companies, and so on.

While undergoing both the language training and the on-the-job training, the students for the language study abroad programs will stay in the U.S.A., Great Britain, Canada, and so forth for a period of 4 weeks to 18 weeks. In particular, the global project this year will include 'visits to overseas Korean companies with supervising professors'. Consequently, 124 students, along with their supervising professors, will visit Singapore, Japan, Russia, etc. for the purpose of extending their knowledge.

President Jung, Hyun-Tae said, "Additional financial assistance was offered to students by the university, lest that students miss out on the overseas opportunities due to the expense. The programs are tailored for students who participate in the overseas language training to get scholarships based upon their language proficiency test scores." "It is my hope that students will travel around the world and experience a lot of things, thereby being able to build an ambitious future," he added.
