The Kyungil University Department of Nursing held ‘The 4th Annual Nightingale Oath-taking Ceremony’ in the library auditorium on November 14th. At this ceremony, more than 500 people were in attendance, including Chung Hyun-Tae, the president of KIU, as well as students from the nursing department and their parents.
This year’s 102 Nightingales made a pledge to devote themselves to people’s health and welfare as professional nurses before they started to do clinical training.
KIU president, Chung Hyun-Tae, encouraged pre-nurses by giving a speech to them. “A nurse is the one who leaves a very deep impression on patients and their family in the hospital. Be a real nurse who takes care of their patients and their family, and keep in mind the notion of ‘Donating to charity’.
Established in 2010, the KIU nursing department has become a prestigious major. The pre-nurses who took the oath will do clinical training for a year in Kyungpook University Hospital, Dongsan Medical Center, and other hospitals to prepare them for becoming a practical nurse. |
