Kyungil University (president Hyun-tae Chung) invited Christian, who is a Mexican cast in a popular program ‘non-summit’, JTBC, and held a guest lecture on how to overcome the difficulties of studying foreign languages in the library auditorium on May 29th.
The useful information about foreign languages was shared by about 400 students who filled the auditorium. The students asked questions regarding studying foreign languages and a lecturer Christian passed on his know-how from when he had studied Korean language and culture.
It has been 2 years since Christian came to Korea. He said “I became interested in the Korean language and culture through Korean Entertainment programs” and “curiosity and time investment is the first step to study foreign languages.”
He introduced ‘learning foreign language in Korea’ like “applying English to real life by changing the phone language setting to English and thinking in English instead of in Korean” and advised “please be accustomed to English culture by meeting and communicating with as many foreigners as possible.”
Byung-do Kim, president of Fusione College, said “I hope that students can dispel the fear of learning English and have time to get useful information through this special lecture.”
Meanwhile, Fusione College and the language counseling office at Kyungil University, responsible for this special lecture, invited a well-known foreign language school on campus and runs courses for new TOEIC and job English and immersive TOEIC camps to improve students’ language skills. In particular, the language classes during the vacation are getting a great response from students by providing them with not only free TOEIC tests, but also cross-taking classes at other universities near their homes.
