It became a big issue that a younger sister entered the same department in the same university as her older sister, on the positive recommendation of her older sister.

Yoon Shin Hye (female, 21 left in the photo) and Yoon Sun Ji (female, 21 right in the photo) who are a year apart, entered the department of fire safety at Kyungil University one year after one another, after graduating from Dongmoon Highschool in Daegu.

Yoon Shin Hye, the older sister, entered the department of fire safety at Kyungil University last year, on her father’s recommendation that future prospects are more important than the name of the school, although she had an excellent grades to enter into a top department in a leading national university. The older sister said, “After studying in the department of fire safety for one year, I’ve taken great pride in being a student of this department and suggested my sister to enter my department” and “because the department is conducting the University for Creative Korea (CK), there are lots of benefits for students, such as: scholarships, overseas study program,s, and special lectures to obtain certificates. This is one of the reasons I recommended my department to her.”

Yoon Shin Hye took part in the training in Russia during the last winter vacation which was provided by ‘Go-First group’, the University for Creative Korea in the department of fire safety. She set up her vision to become a professional fire fighter engineer when she visited the State Hermitage Museum, one of the top three museums in the world. Now she studies and does part-time work in the library as a scholarship student. She fully engages herself in campus life and waits for the overseas study programs in summer and the special lectures on fire safety that have been opened by the department.

The younger sister, Yoon Sun Ji, said “I think I might know the reasons why my sister recommended the department of fire safety at Kyungil University. Based on my experiences as a student in this department, it took only a week for me to understand its appeal” and “above all, I feel reassured that my sister is a friend in the same department and I am pleased that we can go to school together.”

Taking each other’s hands, the sisters said with big smile, “although only the one job, a fire fighter, can be thought to be associated with the major of fire safety, we are shaping our dreams of becoming professional fire fighter engineers and start a business for firefighting engineer facilities as a member of Kyungil University, the No.1 university for starting up a business.
