Most freshmen in campus don’t go anywhere and don’t know what they should do, although they took part in orientation and membership training. They can’t decide what to do between classes because they are strangers on campus, and don’t have many close friends yet. They can’t understand most of their major related classes, either. KIU provides now provides individual services.

First of all, KIU opened a special homepage for freshmen only, known as the ‘Freshman Guide’. This homepage has 4 categories: necessary input, information, life guides and materials for orientations.

n tnecessary input corner, freshmen can check their student number, inpu ttheir individual information, and sign up for classes. Necessary information category includes the information of individual research advisors, social volunteers, scholarships, the online learning system, and information on using the library. Life Guides consists of KIU 114, school buses, certificate issues, job information, and SNS. The orientation materials introduce learning guides and 10 effective ways for studying to KIU students.

That means every freshmen can get information about what to do and how they do them during the semester.

Also, KIU provides various free tests to freshmen for their human nature and apptitude through a drop-in center. There are free tests in the center like ���NEO(adult personality test)
���MBTI(character type test) ���MMPI-2(Multi-phasic personality inventory) ���Selrah six factor personality inventory ���TCI(character and personality test) ���Strong Vocational Interest Blank���Holland Self Directed Search ���CAT(College student Adaptability Test) ���SCT(Sentence Completion Test).
‘KIUM Semester’ conducted the NEO tests for freshmen during the orientation from the 22nd to 24th of Feb. and has analyzed 2000 answers for them. After finishing their analysis in April, freshmen will be notified and receive counseling.

Moreover, KIU runs the individual research advisor system. This system offers freshmen individual advisors who keep records of students’ classes, information, status, and jobs. Freshmen can ask for counseling online after checking with their advisor through the student portal system.

Hyuntae, Jung, the president of KIU said that the university should take charge of students from their entrance up until their graduation. Also, he added that KIU students’ happiness is the responsibility of the school.
