Seven out of ten KIU Graduates got a Full-time Jobs

 

61% of them joined small and medium enterprises—the largest percent, 8.4% of them joined large corporations, 27% work in the office, 11% work in marketing.

Seven out of ten KIU graduates got a full-time job, and their companies are highly satisfied with them.

KIU has recently published “Report on Graduates and Industry Satisfaction” that contains these results.

This report was jointly issued by the KIU Center for Career and Guidance Counseling and LINC Organization was designed to assess the job satisfaction of graduates and the demand for manpower in the industry in order to reflect them in the curriculum and strengthen the innovative ability through industry-academia collaboration. To do this, Kyungil University asked the DaeKyung Research Center to call and interview 680 respondents out of the 2016 graduates and 315 recruitment businesses about their employment type, job satisfaction, and manpower requirements.

According to the report, the job distribution of KIU graduates is as follows: small and medium enterprises make up the largest percentage at 60.8%, public institutions and large corporations each come in at 8.4%, small and strong enterprises 7.7%; and the rest 13.9%. As for the employment type, 70.1% of the graduates have full-time jobs, and 33.5% work in Daegu; 27.5% in Gyeongbuk; 19.9% ​​in the metropolitan area; 12.9% in the southeastern region; and 3.8% in other areas.

In addition, the survey showed that the number of graduates who worked in an office was 27%—the highest—, followed by sales and marketing at 11%, medical and health workers at 9.1%, construction and manufacturing at 7.7%, research and development at 5.7%, and information and communication at 2.4%.

In the survey conducted on companies, when hiring, they considered personality (89.6 points) the most important, followed by teamwork (82 points); computer literacy (77.3 points); specialty (79.6 points), and having a certificate (72.4 points).

Additionally, the companies employing KIU graduates responded with a 90.5% satisfaction rate (satisfied 14.6%, somewhat satisfied 27%, and highly satisfied 48.9%).
