“I really want to make my own business and design company attractive.”

Go Hey Jin, a Kyungil University graduate, who recently resided in the business incubator facility at Kyungil Univertisy, developed conch shell-shaped magnets called ‘Shellnet’. She designed fridge and iron magnets, emphasizing conch shells’ characters. She also designed a cell phone speaker, Phonpot, which is shaped like a flower pot to amplify sound from cell phones. People can buy it in famous shopping malls.

She started her own design business called ‘Verb’ in 2015 when she was a senior. The reason why she named it ‘Verb’ was that she wanted to incorporate ‘Activity’ into ‘Design’.

She has won several design awards such as the prestigious Red Dot Award for design concept and the grand prize in entrepreneurship contest when she was a student. This led her to be interested in starting her own business more than getting a job. She has been trained and studied about how to set up and run businesses through the business incubation program in Kyungil University.

She said, “I think I am achieving my dream, which makes me excited. And I want to be a model for people to follow when they dream of starting a business.”
