Global Start-up Team Organized by Vietnamese and Kyungil University Students Conduct a Team Project in Vietnam

“Global Springboard Camp for 2018 Start-up Excellent Students” was held in Vietnam for 7 days from August 19th to 25th by Kyungil University (President Chung Hyun-Tae).

Twenty-five Kyungil University students, who were selected as excellent entrepreneurs, visited Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, which is emerging as a mecca for entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia. Also, they carried out a team project with students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).

The students from these two schools organized five global start-up teams, set up their own business items, and had on-line and off-line marketing experiences in Vietnam. Especially, they had the opportunity to exhibit products, for actual sale later, by establishing a business network using the Vietnamese national social network service, Zalo.

In addition, Kyungil Univeristy students visited the biggest co-working place in Vietnam, Dreamplex, where President Obama had visited before, and shared their success stories with the local CEO stars. Moreover, they visited Information Technology Park (ITP) which is the largest supporting institution for university student foundations in Ho Chi Minh and the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) incubation center.

Choi Hyung-Kyu, a student from the Cyber Security Department said, "Through this overseas training, I was able to see the passion for entrepreneurship in Vietnam, and gain useful knowledge through mentoring by the Vietnamese market experts. This was an upgraded group activity for students.”

The head of start-up, Gang Hyung-Koo said, "The Global Springboard Camp is an opportunity for students who want to start their business overseas. It is also expected that overseas sales will increase due to the signing of an international partnership agreement between Korea and Vietnamese companies and by SNS public relations activities”.
