Kyungil University (President Hyun Tae Chung) and Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation (CEO Seong Hwal Hong) signed “Industry-University Cooperation Agreement.” The agreement seeks to provide education on practical theories and on-the-job training for students who participate in a railway engineer’s licensing program.
Under the agreement, KIU and DTRO agree to work together to provide KIU’s Railway Academy students with work experience and establishe the details that will allow that to happen.
President Chung said, “Practical knowledge and work experience will help our students learn DTRO’s technical skills and know how, and it will help them become train experts who can contribute to the local community.”
CEO Hong added, “With this agreement, we will support the future railway experts, offer them our expertise, and share relevant information, so that we, as a public enterprise, can contribute to the local community.”
Meanwhile, KIU’s Railway Academy, which involves training for the second electric-train driving license, is ready to begin making efforts to produce railway engineers. Based on its Department of Railway and Industry-University Cooperation with state railway companies such as DTRO and Korail, KIU is carrying forward its aim to open an education and training institution under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
