Kyungil university(President Chung, Hyun-Tae) gained recognition with the education and research capacity by the Chinese Government, so the first entrance ceremony of the joint education program by Chinese and foreign educational institutions was held at the auditorium of Jilin Process Technology Teachers College.

Although about 200 Chinese universities applied for the joint education program last year, only 34 universities got a stamp of approval from the Chinese government, including only two Korean universities. This is because the Chinese government is notorious for its strict approval.

Kyungil University got approval on the joint education program which is jointly run by Jilin Process Technology Teachers College, made an agreement about double degrees in the field of electric process and automatic process. Chinese freshmen can receive dual degrees after they complete their studies for two years at Jilin Process Technology Teachers College and for two years at Kyungil university. Also, the professors of school of electrical engineering of KIU are scheduled to teach Chinese students in China.

The entrance ceremony was held on 23th and attended by Hong, Jae-Pyo(Vice-president of KIU), Ryu, An-Lim(party secretary), Yang, Ho-Dong(President of Jilin Process Technology Teachers College), and the parties concerned including about 400 freshmen.

Hong, Jae-Pyo, vice-president, said in a congratulatory speech, “The joint education program run by the permission of Chinese government will contribute greatly to the exchanges and cooperation between the two nations as well as two colleges.”

Representatives from each college had the first meeting of governing committee of the joint education program, discussed diverse cooperation schemes including providing distinguished graduate with employment opportunity and the opening of a Master's course.

Jilin Process Technology Teachers College is a four-year-course college in Changchun, Jilin Province, China. Founded in 1979, the college is the only vocational education teachers college in three northeastern provinces and Inner Mongolia.
