-“KIU’s Co-Working Space” will become a rendezvous for creators.
-You can shoot product shots and use a personal studio, a conference room, and a one-stop business counseling room.

On the KIU campus(President Hyun-Tae Chung), a large highlighting pen appeared in front of the library building. When you followed the highlighter’s yellow line and went down the stairs to the basement of the building, you arrived at KIU’s Startup Support team’s “Co-Working Space.” Inside that, there were a research and development team of SL Inc., one of Daegu’s major companies, and staff members of KP IT, a startup based in Kyunggi Province. There, a heated discussion was taking place on new product development.

SL Inc. rented Co-Working Space free of charge for one day from 23 January. Dong-Hui Woo, a staff member of SL Inc., said, “We found this space at KIU while we searched for a proper meeting place. Because when we had a meeting with partner companies in our office, we often felt that the atmosphere became too formal and it became hard for us to come up with new ideas.” “This is a perfect place for us because it offers us space and equipment we need to co-work with startup partners in an atmosphere of freedom that college campuses can give,” he added.

Hyung-Gu Gang, director of KIU’s Startup Support team, said, “A highlighter reminds us of the moment of highlighting important parts when we study or work. The fact that we set a big highlighting pen at the heart of the campus shows our will to provide a co-working space and necessary equipment for (prep)entrepreneurs and local companies.” Also, Co-Working Space is a new rendezvous where local creators and companies can work together,“ he added, ”Like the wings drawn on the wall of the building, we will help (prep)entrepreneurs and creators fly high.“
KIU’s Co-Working Space has two studios. One is for shooting products shots, and the other is for broadcasting personal media. KIU lends the space for free to (prep)entrepreneurs and those who dream of being personal media creators. “I took photos, for free, of the test product which I made in a startup club, and also I could get help from an expert when editing those photos,” Yeon-Ju Shin, a junior in Beauty Department and also a prep entrepreneur, commented on her experience. “A personal media studio, in particular, was very helpful because the studio which no other surrounding colleges have is a crucial place for people like me, prep entrepreneurs who want to be beauty creators.”

On 22-23 January in The K Hotel in Kyungju, KIU Startup Support team held a special lecture called “A Complete Mastery of YouTube Creators” for 30 people who were planning to broadcast on YouTube. Doo-Ri Kim, a leading actor in web-drama titled Seventeen, gave a lecture about how to act and express different characters in personal media. Also, the participants actually made their own videos and received feedback from the experts.
