Those who concern with the area of the industry, government, university, and research, estimated about 500 people, participated in the event, and it was the biggest in the industry-university collaboration. They reported and shared the results to lead to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The concerned have got together to share innovative products and counter-measures of the 4th Industrial Revolution. With their purposes, a big event called ‘the 8th Kyungil University KOLLABO EXPO by the industry-university collaboration has been held in great success on Jan. 30 (Wed.) at the hotel Inter-Burgo in Manchon-dong.

As well as Kyungil University President, Hyun Tae Chung, about 500 who are concerned with the industry, government, and research center joined together, including the vice-governor of Economy Department in Kyungbuk, Woo Hun Chun and a director of Jobs Investment Department, Jung Kwon Ahn. The event was divided into two sections – the first section had presentations of the results by the industry-university collaboration, presentations of good practices of businesses, special lectures, and the second was the time for exhibition stand tour, awards ceremony, and communication. The director of the industry-university collaboration center, Hyun Woo Kim said that about 900 businesses attended the education for employees working in industrial organizations for 3 years, and about 5000 workers completed the education. He continued, “it was chosen the best business incubation center for 12 years, the 11th nationwide in evaluation of the ability of getting and starting enterprises, and 29 technology transitions as well as 113 registered patent applications in 2018 only.” Finally he reported the results of practical uses by local businesses with 10 billion won respectable equipment related to mechanics, automobiles, and green energy, and the national projects comprising of LINC+ and the project for the university of the founding leader contributed to the innovation and the development of the local communities.

Along with that, the business leaders made presentations regarding the sales improvement and technology development through the collaboration with Kyungil university-industry center. The representative of the incorporated Woo Su, a start-up enterprise of stocking and socks, mentioned “we could have an opportunity to promote our products by participating in exhibitions and fairs often, and it was thanks to the Kyungil university-industry collaboration center. We realized it was important and thankful to have the university-industry collaboration enough to grow into a global business, so focusing on export.” The special lecture was made by a member of the board of directors, Hae Dong Jae at the Department of Global Quality Strategy Project in Hyun Dai Automobile. Mr. Jae revealed the outcomes and the road map of the development in the area of automatic driving skills in Hyun Dai Automobile, and spent some time in explaining automobile platform by the automatic driving.

The 2nd event began with the guests’ exhibition booth tour. Kyungil University automatic driving cars and drones designed by the KIU unmanned aircraft education center have been displayed in various kinds around the Collabo Expo venue that day. Moreover, the excellent outcomes resulting from the business start-ups and technology tasks with an industry-university common goal, were on display at about 30 booths.

The Kyungil University president, Hyun Tae Chung visited ‘Jungyeonhada (Be well reasoned)’ which is his students’ club for business start-ups and develop, sale a variety of design goods. He bought some sleep pillows on the spot and gave them to guests as presents. For the next event, there have been a series of awards – Kyungsan mayor, DaeKyung small and medium-sized businesses leader, Daegu mayor, Kyungbuk governor, and Kyungil University president. In addition, a vice-president of Kium Angel Club, Jeong Hae Lim and a representative of Yang Won Tech, Dong Hak Lee made big donations to the president such as 20 million wons in cash and in merchandise on spot.

The president, in a welcoming speech, said that the triangled project as in automatic driving, railroad, and unmanned aircraft makes it possible Kyungil University’s industry-university collaboration and training the human resources. He also emphasized that every participant in the Collabo Expo would be a main character in the economic development in Korea.
