Only in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, Strengthening the position of a lifelong education hub

Kyungil University (President Chung Hyun-tae) was selected as the only university in Daegu and Gyeongbuk for four consecutive times in the “Support for Lifelong Education System of Universities” organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education. As a result, Kyungil University will be selected as a hub university in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province and will receive government support for four years. The 'University's Lifelong Education System Support Program' aims to establish a hub university that provides customized education for adult learners in each region. Kyungil University has been selected as the only four consecutive times in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province since 2016.

The purpose of the support program for lifelong education is to nurture excellent universities for lifelong education by region in order to activate the employment and after-school learning and expand the opportunities for the people to participate in high-level lifelong education, supported by the Department of Education so that the university can build the foundation of the adult learner-friendly lifelong education system.

Kyungil University announced that it will contribute to the industrial development of Daegu and Gyeongbuk province in the era of the 4th industrial revolution and strive to enhance the life value of the local people, based on the government’s support for the next four years. In order to achieve this goal, Kyungil University expands and reorganizes its school system. The College of Future Convergence, which operates two undergraduate studies and one department, is composed of two undergraduate studies and two departments [School of Convergence Industry Technology (major of smart automobile and major of smart factory), School of Information Communication Technology (major of industrial business management and major of big data application), Department of Nuclear Energy Convergence, and Department of Lifelong Education Consulting]. Also, the enrollment quota is increased from 110 to 130.

In particular, Kyungil University runs and maintains an industrial educational system that is compatible with industry employees and adult learners, for example, multi-semester system for adults learners to provide convenience, class concentration system, certification system for pre-learning experience, weekday nights and weekend classes, and blended class. In addition, it also works on the program to strengthen the learning capacity by supporting the learning of the core contents in the major by micro-level and developing and distributing the learning methods video contents.
