Kyungil University (President Hyun Tae Jeong) held an inauguration ceremony on Monday on the 10th and pledged to fight well in the “56th Autumn College Football Federation,” the first competition.

At the inauguration ceremony, more than 200 people, including President Hyun Tae Jeong, assistant professors at the headquarters, KIU Sports Manager Jung Ji-gyu, coach Wan-seop Kwak, coaches, athletes, and parents, encouraged the players.

President Hyun Tae Jung delivered the team flag of the KIU Sports Team to Myeong-Hoon Kang, the captain of the soccer team, praying for a good fight, and hung a muffler wishing for victory around the neck of all the players.

Kyungil University decided to re-establish the soccer team after 12 years, and completed the formation of coaching staff and player selection, thanks to the performance of coach Jung Jeong-yong Jung from Kyungil University, who led the national team at the U-20 World Cup last year. The launching ceremony has been led only recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through his encouraging speech, President Jung emphasized, "We will develop into a new future of college sports that can provide various career paths, including professional sports players, sports coaching, sports care, and sports marketing by nurturing athletes who study without worrying about winning or losing.“

​Director Kwak Wan-seop Kwak said, "I’ve worked hard with the players on the field to recreate the glory of the Kyungil University soccer team," and continued "I will use this competition as an opportunity to have hope and confidence while working with the unique spirit and passion of the freshman."
