Global Etiquette, sent with a diploma to graduates

Kyungil University (President Chung Hyun-tae) presented Understanding of Heterogeneous Cultures and Global Etiquette to all students by home-delivery service, including the freshmen, with the entrance ceremony and the start of the classes ahead. The books will be delivered sequentially to each student by the end of March. KIU sent the book and one’s diploma to graduates who were unable to attend the commencement ceremony due to Covid 19.

The book that KIU students received as a gift was chosen by President Chung Hyun-tae himself, and is focus on helping them understand foreign culture and manners in the multicultural society.

KIU presented the book to all students to help them to forster a global mindset when they are in between jobs.

“If we understand foreign cultures better, we will be confident in participating in global projects such as overseas cultural experiences and language training, and it also will help prepare for employment, including global companies,” President Chung Hyun-tae said in the enclosed letter. And “I always cheer for our students who carry out their dream confidently on the stage of the world” he also sent a message of encouragement.

Lee Je-yoon, a senior in digital media design, said, “I was sorry that I couldn't enjoy a lively campus life for more than a year because of Covid 19, but, as if to allay this sadness, KIU sent me the book and I was happy as if I had a surprise gift.” He also added “Thanks to this book, I will develop a global mindset, take an active challenge at anything, and spend the last year in my college without regrets.”

KIU is implementing a policy to create a university where students enjoy studying based on ‘Student Happiness Campus,’ one of the five major development strategies. In 2020, the remodeling of the central library and student center, the construction of school squares and sky garden, and the home-delivery service of KIUM magazine, which contains news of the past year, are the typical examples.
