The highest level of "5-year Accreditation" from the Korea Architectural Accrediting Board(KAAB)

Kyungil University(President, Chung, Hyung Tae)'s Department of Architecture received the highest level of "5-year Accreditation" from the Korea Architectural Accrediting Board(KAAB).

KAAB provides a guideline for the professional degree programs and induces the fulfillment of the programs through accrediting and consulting. Students or graduates majoring in architecture at KIU will benefit a lot from the accreditation: exemption from the preliminary examination for acquisition of architect qualification, the shortening of the practical training period required to apply for architect examination(5 to 3 years) and etc.

The department of architecture is conducting a practice-based curriculum to meet the standards of architecture education of International Union of Architects(UIA). The department of architecture has an excellent faculty and a leading educational environment as evident in the CAD room, Design room, Model room, Materials lab and Individual design studio space, and etc. to foster students' dreams and passion for design.

The department of architecture received the best evaluation from the evaluation of university education on the perspective of industry. It has received many awards such as the grand prize, the first prize, excellence awards, and etc. in Daegu International Architecture Competition.

Kim, Byeong Ju, the head of architecture department, said, " The full support of the university and the enthusiastic guidance of the professors were a hugh help with these achievements. And the department of architecture will try to become a prominent one that represents the region."
