- Around 900 Kyungil University Students joined in field placements, language study abroad programs, cultural experiences, camps, etc.
 

For Kyungil university students, their classroom was a business field and their campus was a global village. Their desire to learn is being ignited with intensive courses being offered as part of extracurricular programs. They are also developing programs day and night in their club rooms.

The president of KIU, Hyun-Tae Chung, said, “Kyungil university students are participating in employment programs and global competence programs around the world during summer vacation.” Around 900 Kyungil university students will try to achieve their personal development goals by joining in global human resource projects, field placements, extra-curricular programs, and so on.

Around 350 students went to 16 countries all over the glove, including countries in the Americas, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and so forth for language programs, cultural experiences, and international student exchange programs. They have studied and have had cultural experiences at Purdue University in the USA, the University of Liverpool in the UK, the University of Guelph in Canada, etc. Furthermore,25 students will visit Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam in August for the business field trip to cultivate a global mindset.

Around 471 students, including 434 from LINC+(Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation), 23 from Academy-Industry customized Human Resource Development, 12 from the Student Work Experience Program, etc. are supposed to acquire practical business skills through hands-on experience in A-Jin Industrial Co.,Ltd., the Korean Appraisal Board, and so on. They will receive training expenses, credits for summer session courses, Happiness Mileage, accident insurance, and others from school.

Extra-curricular programs provided by the specialization project and LINC+ are open to students for strengthening their competencies during the summer vacation. The programs are not part of the regular school curriculum and do not offer credit.

Earlier this month, 19 students were educated and received the certification of CATIA(Computer Aided Three dimensional Interactive Application). Also, 50 students participated in the camp, TRIZ and fostered the ability to apply problem-solving skills when faced with issues or problems in the workplace. LINC+ held the camp, Intellectual Property Rights camp linked to creativity and fusion. It helped and taught 40 students how to search for prior art, write for patent specifications, use the procedure for electronic application, and so on.

Students from the department of cyber security and computer engineering are staying and working together in laboratories to develop programs. Tae-wook Ahn, the leader of the club, KICOM (Kyungil Computer Operator Meeting), said, "We are working on vaccine development with the help from graduates. It is hard to find time to develop vaccines during the semester. I am very pleased to be able to focus on the work with club members during the summer vacation."
