- Winning international marketing competition during training

 

Kyung-Min Park and Hye-In Lee, from the department of Global Commerce at KIU, were selected as students for the 5th Gyeongbuk Youth Trade Academy and returned after a month of training, from July 3rd to August 4th, at the Chilgok Youngjin College Global Campus. In particular, Hye-In Lee won the Excellence Prize at the international marketing contest held during the training session.

The Youth Trade Academy hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and the Korean International Trade Association (KITA) conducts training on the basis of export-import procedures basic education on-line learning, training, and on-the-job training. In addition, those who have completed the program will be supported by a program for strengthening employment capacity, trade-related qualifications, and examination fees.

KyungM-in Park and Hye-In Lee said the Youth Trade Academy has become ‘a turning point in life’. They were able to communicate with students from various universities outside the school fences and share their careers.

Hye-Iin Lee won the Excellence Prize at the international marketing competition, which selected three teams out of a total of 10 teams. She took charge of overseas market research, analyzed import-export trends and distribution structure, and established marketing 4P strategy. She explained that she was able to get high marks in paperwork with systematic analysis. Hye-Iin Lee, whose goal was to become a film import and export specialist, met a mentor who was exporting cultural contents to China during the training period. Even after the training is over, she keeps in touch with the mentor and gets advice about her career. She follows up on the advice of the mentor and is working on Chinese study in parallel with the school class. This semester she plans to participate in the Academic Buddy Program to support the study of Chinese students and help them to stabilize their lives in Korea.

Kyung-Min Park is aiming at employment in clothing, cosmetic trading companies and global companies. He currently has credit exchanges at the Department of International Trade, Yeungnam University. Kyung-min Park said “I was not only able to raise the spirit of challenge while participating in the Youth Trade Academy, but also had confidence in the trade field” and “before graduation, I would like to open up my career by meeting new people and experiencing a lot of experiences through exchange credits with other universities and external activities.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Global Commerce at Kyungil University (department head Junghoon Im) was selected as a lecture support project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in the academic year of 2017 to provide an understanding of the FTA and a lecture on business utilization. Through this, they are doing their best to cultivate practical workforce that can utilize FTA in company fields.
