"We are committing to community innovation as a TOBE Innovator!"
Student innovators in KIU will be sent to revitalize and innovate the local community. KIU announced that TOBE Innovator started with a ceremony in the library auditorium on Tuesday, September 5.

The opening ceremony was held by the KIU LINC + project team (Prof. Kim Hyun-woo) to make opportunities for professors and students to participate in community innovation with their major knowledge and skills.

KIU organized an "Innovator" with 564 students from 31 different teams, including advisors and students by registration a month ago.
They are supported by an amount ranging from 2 to 5 million won depending on the contents and size by LINC + project of Kyungil University.

Students from the major of fashion design are in charge of the '2017 Daegu International Fashion Culture Festival' for themselves, and those in fire disaster prevention will go into the education and inspection for local elderly and child welfare facilities. Students in electrical engineering intend to jump into the electric environment improvement for the underprivileged class, and in food industry, they intend to provide consulting and technical support for obtaining food safety management certification (HACCP) for small local food companies.

The student representatives (Kim Jin-ho and Jeon Sun-young, seniors in design) read the Inovator Declaration and are said to be creators, communicators, and innovators with creative ideas and major knowledge.
Kim Hyun-woo, the director of the LINC + project team, said, "We are also helping local innovation activities for our students through partnerships and agreements with local communities, including the Urban Renewal Center in Daegu. He also added "I am confident that this will be a successful business model."

Chung Hyun-tae, the president of KIU said, “The relationship between universities and communities is a win-win partnership that develops together. It will be a catalyst for active society like an enlightment movement, which university students participated under Japanese control 86 years ago.”
