Nam Yu-Jin, mayor of Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, visited Kyungil University on the 25th(Monday) and gave a lecture to about 400 students.
This special lecture was an invitation from the Students’ Union (president Lee Seung-Hyun) at Kyungil University. This lecture was held for over an hour with the theme of “Let’s Do It, Youth! There is a Chance and a Hope in the Province” with more than 400 students in the library hall.
The mayor mentioned the fall of investor Warren Buffett and Finnish Nokia in the lecture, saying, “There is no difference between the capital and the province in the US and other developed countries.” And he asked to take a challenging attitude as there is always an opportunity for young people to challenge in the province, including Gumi.
In addition, during the question and answer time, a student asked the measures being undertaken by the city of Gumi to solve the problem of youth unemployment, he said, “resolving mismatches between job seekers and companies is an urgent task, making Gumi a good business city and steadily creating quality jobs.”
Before the special lecture on this day, Mayor Nam Yu-Jin and executives of Kyungil University Students’ Union held a meeting. The student president, Lee Seung-Hyun, presented a bouquet of gratitude to the mayor who accepted the invitation.
