Kyungil University (President, Chung Hyun-tae) was selected as the only university in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk area to host the "University Job Center Project" organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. By selecting universities with excellent job-recruitment capabilities and which link local communities and local governments, the “University Job Center Project” has made a collaborative effort to provide customized employment support services to the university students.

As a result of the selection of this project, Kyungil University will carry out the pilot project with a total project cost of 60 million won (50% from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, 25% from Gyeongsangbuk-do, and 25% from Kyungil University). From 2018 to 2022, 200 million won a year, for a total of 1 billion won over five years, will be invested to operate a tailored employment support program for young people not only at Kyungil University, but also in the local community.

Kyungil University will provide personalized career and employment services for students by building a SPRIG system that systematically counsels and manages the students' career from the time of admission to the success of the job, with the vision of "dreaming of young people and realizing happiness". In addition, three additional consultants who take full charge of the domestic employment, entrepreneurship, career, and overseas employment will be further arranged to focus on students’ career and employment counseling, and operate various employment and entrepreneurial programs.

Bae Sang-wook, the director of KIU employment department, said, “To become a university that leads the youth employment promotion, we will strengthen the career guidance and employment counseling guidance system with the launch of the university job center and expand the employment support program in which the local community participates together.”
