- Choi Moo-Hyuk, a Chair-professor at Kyungil University, was awarded the Daegu Metropolitan City’s Culture Prize for the Arts, winning praise for his devotion to local construction culture development
 

Kyungil University (president Chung Hyun-Tae) announced that Choi Moo-Hyuk (a chair-professor from the School of Architecture) will receive ‘The 37th Daegu Metropolitan City’s Culture prize’ at the Daegu Culture & Arts Center onThursday, November 19th.

Professor Choi Moo-Hyuk educated students, performed creative activities of architectural design, and released a lot of architectural works while he worked as a professor at Kyungpook National University for 30 years. Particularly, by establishing a plan of globalization in the field of education and study with the campus master plan of Kyungpook National University, he got credit for building some local and national campuses in Korea.

He was also selected as the invited artist in the National Exhibition of Korean Architecture and he continued academic activities such as publishing a lot of articles on local development, including his book of Theory and Practise of Architectural Design. He has led the development of local architecture and arts while he served as an examiner, a consultant, an evaluator, an organizer of some national and local government’s architectural committees, and also served as the president of the Daegu Arts Development Committee.

On the other hand, Daegu Metropolitan City has awarded the Daegu Metropolitan City’s Culture Prize to those who contributed to the development of local culture and arts, and the original development of traditional culture since 1981. The awards ceremony will be held at the Daegu Culture & Arts Center at 3 p.m., on November 19th.
