Kyungil University (President Cheong Hyun-Tae) announced that KIU has made a contract with the Daegu Employment Welfare Center for the 2017 University Job Center on Oct. 31st.

The Ministry of Labor and Welfare plans to carry out a pilot project for 60 million won (50% by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and 50% by KIU) until next February, and invest a total of 1 billion won, with increments of 200 million won every year for 5 years from 2018 to 2022 (MLW:50%, Kyungsang Province:25%, KIU: 25%).

Through the signing of this agreement, KIU will play a major role in the functioning of this system, as it will be responsible for the establishment of a spatial unification for career guidance and career development within the university, strengthening early career guidance considering the aptitude and majors from the beginning, and promoting publicity for the overall youth employment project.

Seven people attended the ceremony for the signing of the agreement, including University Vice President of Education (Kim Kwang-Ju), Dean of recruiting (Bae Sang-Wook), the Director of the Daegu Employment Welfare Center (Ha Chang-Yong), and the head of the guidance team (Kang Ki-Young).

Kim Kwang-Ju, the Vice-president of Education in KIU said, "Currently, KIU implements a demand-oriented, industry-academy-oriented education, by designing transfer schools and capstones and designating occupational ethics required by industry as a core curriculum. In addition, there are more selections and opportunities for students, so we are looking forward to greater results.”

Ha Chang-Yong, the director of the Employment Welfare Center at Daegu, said, "We will do our best in the employment center so that KIU students can achieve remarkable results in start-up businesses."

On the other hand, the College Job Center is a project in which universities selected by the Ministry of Labor and Welfare links with local governments. The program provides employment support and public services for young people. KIU was selected as the only university to attract university job centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk in 2017.
