The nursing club at KIU is an active group of students who work to promote social, educational and service projects. It has been recognized with various awards such as the grand prize in the national evaluation contest, the official commendation from the Gyeongbuk Provincial governor, and etc.

The Nursing Department at KIU has engaged in G.O.P.(Gambling Over Project, advisor: Yoo So-Yeon in the department of nursing). The G.O.P participated in the contest evaluating the preventive action on gambling for university students, which was held at the Hongwon training institute om Paju-city, GyongGi-Do. It was recognized and selected as the best out of 32 universities, receiving a certificate, a plaque, and prize money for excellent performance.

Another nursing club, Gatekeeper(advisor: Yoo So-Yeon), also was recognized for its contributions to improve local sanitary conditions. Bae Hae-Ran(sophomore in the department of nursing) received the official commendation from the Gyeongbuk Provincial governor on behalf of the club.

The Nursing Department at KIU has been recognized due to students’ efforts, the advisor’s passion, and the support from the school like the TOBE(TOgether BoomEr) Innovation.

Prof. Yoo So-Yeon (advisor of G.O.P and Gatekeeper club) said, “G.O.P has been selected for GAT(Gambling Action Team) for the fourth year in a row. I am very proud of all of my students who have really worked hard to achieve these excellent results. I will try to help advance students’ educational and professional aspirations and help them grow their skills as a nurse.”
